Patrick McCarthy is a Cyber Security and Privacy Protection Advisor for Cloud, AI and Data Governance to Huawei’s Cyber Security Transparency Centre in Brussels since 2021. Previously, Pat worked for 7 years as the VP Strategy and Business Planning supporting the Huawei Ireland Research Centre research into Autonomous Operations, Cloud Ops, AI and Data Governance.
Pat is a independent AI Cybersecurity standards expert for the Irish NSAI contributing to CEN CLC JTC 21 and JTC 13 and a regulator contributor to the Industry forums. Pat sits on the Governance Board for Science Foundation Ireland’s INSIGHT Centre for Data Analytics. Pat has held leadership roles in product management, R&D and marketing with high tech companies in Europe, USA and Canada for large scale operational and real time systems.
Pat holds a M.Sc Computer Science (Research) from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, B.Eng from University of Limerick and the CISSP.
